WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING DONE AT MORE THAN A MAILBOX?
More Than A Mailbox is Folsom's premiere LiveScan location. We have been rolling fingerprints for over 16 years and always have a Certified Fingerprint Roller available. We know how busy you are so we welcome Walk-Ins; most LiveScans take about 15 minutes.
WHAT IS LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING?
LiveScan is a way to take inkless fingerprints, which are then digitalized and transmitted directly to the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI. The DOJ then checks the fingerprints against known criminal history records. A response (criminal history or no criminal history) is then sent to the agency requesting the LiveScan. If an applicant has no criminal history a response should be sent from the DOJ to the requesting agency in approximately 3 to 7 days.
WHO NEEDS LIVESCAN?
LiveScan Fingerprints are required for most state licenses, as well as anyone having contact with children or the elderly.
HOW MUCH DOES A LIVESCAN COST?
There are two fees involved in the LiveScan process: A Rolling Fee for entering the information and capturing the fingerprints and a DOJ/FBI Processing Fee. DOJ/FBI fees vary and are paid in addition to the Rolling fee. Your requesting agency can provide you with information about the DOJ/FBI fees. Fees are due when fingerprint services are rendered and can be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit card.
WHAT IS NEEDED FOR A LIVESCAN?
Applicants must bring the "Request for LiveScan Service" form (this form is given to you by the agency sending you in for the LiveScan). The form must be completed by the agency requesting the LiveScan and the applicant. The DOJ requires certified fingerprint rollers accept only current, valid, and unexpired picture identification documents as a primary valid identification such. A list of acceptable forms of ID can be found on our website www.mtambox.com.
I HAD A LIVESCAN DONE BEFORE, DO I HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN?
The DOJ does not share your information with other agencies. An applicant's LiveScan form acts as a release for a criminal history response to be sent to the specified requesting agency. This means that you must submit a new application each time a criminal history is requested of you, therefore you must go through the LiveScan process again.
CAN I GET TRADITIONAL FINGERPRINTS?
In addition to LiveScan services, More Than A Mailbox can capture your traditional ink fingerprints. We even have the FD-258 cards available for you.
We are also an FBI-approved Channeler that serves as the conduit for submitting fingerprints to the FBI.
